I contributed a field recording to Emily Gustafson's Picnic Basket project featured in the exhibit Picnics in the Polar Vortex, at Public Pool in Hamtramck, MI.
I have been making field recordings at Old Orchard Field, since moving here in the fall of 2013. Nothing fancy, just recordings made with my phone of night sounds, running water, bird songs, and the wind in the trees. I don't have a plan yet for all the recordings, I just enjoy capturing the sounds of the landscape. However, I picked up a Fostex field recorder last spring and plan to start experimenting with that this year and see if I can mix and weave various field recordings together into a single soundscape. I have thinking a lot about sound, ecology, and silence. This recent interview of Gordon Hempton was inspiring and worrisome as the last wild places begin to be drowned out by human generated noise.

I am happy to be part of this huge group show of amazing and talented RI artists. NetWorks is a project developed and produced by Dr. Joseph A. Chazan, and Umberto Crenca, Artistic Director of AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island. The project was designed to feature the work of selected visual artists and celebrate the rich, creative energy of Rhode Island. The Retrospective group show features nearly 90 artists featured in NetWorks over the last seven years. The exhibit is organized and curated by Candita Clayton.

I have some small works at Sue Freda & Arn Krebs lovely Gallery 4 at Tiverton Four Corners. I will have a small showing later this spring/early summer with some new works that are currently underway in the studio.
